Français : Potelet hôtel Maynier d'Oppède, 23 rue Gaston-de-Saporta, Aix-en-Provence (France ).

NB : cet hôtel abrite depuis le 1er octobre 2013 le service Formation Professionnelle Continue de l’Université d’Aix-Marseille .

« Construit sur une ancienne résidence des archevêques, le bâtiment appartint à la famille d’Oppède de 1490 à 1730. Cette famille illustre donna plusieurs Présidents au Parlement, des consuls à la Ville, des ambassadeurs au Roi. Pourtant le plus célèbre d’entre eux, Jean, reste dans les mémoires pour sa cruauté dans la répression des Vaudois du Lubéron qu’il pourchassa sans pitié en 1545. Les Thomassin de Saint Paul l’acquièrent en 1730. La forme actuelle de l’hôtel, datée de 1757, lui fut donnée par George Vallon et décorée par Jean Chastel, dans un style Régence. Les hauts pilastres corinthiens qui joignent deux niveaux d’habitation le classent dans l’ordre colossal.

Bâtiment unique de l’Université des Lettres de sa création en 1846 à 1950, il abrite aujourd’hui l’Institut d’Etudes Françaises pour Etudiants Etrangers. »
