Description
English: New York City, circa 1932-1933 -- HMAS Australia (Australian Heavy Cruiser, 1928) underway in Hudson River heading north upstream. West shoreline of Manhattan looking towards top of Woolworth Building in distant skyline. Note squat, square structure just off-shore (near Canal Street in Lower Manhattan) which is a ventilation structure for trans-Hudson tunnel linking NY and NJ.
