| Description |
Haleakala National Park is located on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Haleakala is "House of the Sun" in Hawaiian. Haleakala is a massive shield volcano. Of note, there are more endangered species in this national park than any other site in the park system. The view of the crater from the visitors' center at 9,740 feet (2,969 m). It was kind of cool being above the clouds. |
