Summary edit

Description
English: Reconstruction (with hypothetical colors) of a stove tile (Kachel) in the Transylvanian Saxon town of Hammersdorf (Gușterița), now incorporated by Sibiu. The original piece, in Late Gothic style, is dated between 1400 and 1470. Arms are a primitive version of Sibiu's heraldry. The banner has Blackletter-style uncial lettering (described as scriere gotică, "Gothic script" or "Blackletter"). It is probably incompletely preserved, reading GOT IST GER ("God is [?]") and the digits 73. For image, context, and interpretation, see Karla Roșca,"Proiectul catalogului de Cahle. Evoluție stilistică și tipologică", in Revista Muzeelor, Issue 3/2005, p. 46.
