Summary edit

Description Plaque above the entrance to the Hanover Community Centre, 33 Southover Street, Hanover, Brighton, City of Brighton and Hove, England. This was built in 1872 as St Mary's School for Boys. It became the school of the Church of the Annunciation around 1900 and then the Brighton Corporation Handicrafts School (1924). Subsequently it was used to store the Corporation's supplies of educational materials, before being converted into the Hanover area's community centre in 1982. (This had been founded six years earlier in the former Cobden Road public slipper baths around the corner.)
