A plaque on the south side reads:

Borough of Ealing

This clock was erected by the citizens of Ealing
to commemorate the coronation of their Majesties
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
Mayor
Councillor F.F. Woodward. J.P.
Chairman of Highways committee
Alderman A.W. Bradford

May. 1937

There is a sister clock to this, which was made by the same clockmaker and erected for the same occasion on w:en:Northolt's village green. You will notice also, they both have exactly the same style of clock-face.
