English: Today is the wedding of Tulsi (Holy Hindu Herbal Tree) and Haribodhani Ekadashi, one of the festivals of Hindus. According to the Nepali calendar, there are 24 Ekadashis in a year. Among them, Harishyani Ekadashi which starts Chaturmas Brat and Haribodhani Ekadashi which ends Chartumas Brat are also called Thulo Ekadashi.
According to Hindu tradition, Lord Vishnu rises on this day. Therefore, today's Ekadashi is considered special. Today, the famous Budhanilkantha in the Budhanilkantha municipality of Kathmandu district has a large crowd of devotees as well as a fair. Also, there are a lot of devotees in various Narayan temples of Nepal today. One lakh lamps were lit at the Narayan temple in Bhedasing, a busy place in Kathmandu, on the day of Ekadashi. Nowadays, special worship of Tulsi is performed by marrying the Tulsi plants kept in the houses of Hindus. Basil is a sacred plant of Hindus. Basil plants are planted in the courtyard or pot of every Hindu's house. The basil plant, which has an important role in Ayurveda in Vedic Sanatan Hindu Dharmashastra, is also of great religious, cultural and scientific importance. Tulsi worship has great significance in Vedic Sanatan rituals. For thousands of years, Sanatan cultures have been found in their daily routine only by waking up in the morning, pouring water on the basil and bowing down. Importance of Tulsi in Vedic Sanatan Every special festival or any religious function, whether a person is born or dies, Tulsi leaves are definitely used. |
