Description
English: this is a festival on the shores of the Ganga river in Haridwar. Haridwar means the gate to god. During the Indian festival of Shiv Ratri (the night of Lord Shiva). People walk barefooted for hundreds of kilometers to get a "Kawad" (a religious thing) and carry it on their shoulders No matter what the weather is, they walk continuously for several days. This spiritual pilgrimage is called "Daak Kawad".
