This is only meant for a talk page, but might be useful elsewhere. It's three 5 second chunks of 100 Hz sine wave, with various distortion. They have each been enveloped with a smooth ADSR curve, to sound kind of "musical".

Before the envelopes were applied:

  1. The first, from 0 to 5 seconds, is just a 100 Hz sine wave
    • -6 dBFS RMS
    • After notch filtering the fundamental, signal is at -90.3 dBFS = 84.3 dB THD+N = 0.006% THD+N
  2. The second, from 5 to 10 seconds, is a 100 Hz sine wave with additional harmonics at 200, 400, 600, and 800 Hz
    • -6 dBFS RMS
    • After notch filtering the fundamental, signal is at -16.9 dBFS = 10.9 dB THD+N = 28.5% THD+N
  3. The third, from 10 to 15 seconds, is a 100 Hz sine wave with additional harmonics at 300, 500, 700, and 900 Hz
    • -6 dBFS RMS
    • After notch filtering the fundamental, signal is at -17.8 dBFS = 11.8 dB THD+N = 25.7% THD+N

The envelope changed the levels, of course, but the distortion amount should be the same. The ogg formatting also changed the characteristics, but the distortion is exaggerated and still audible.
