Summary

Description
English: View West along the Hart-Haswell Walkway just west of Hesleden, County Durham. Here the Walkway follows the route of the Hartlepool Dock & Railway Co. line of 1835 which was later linked to other contemporary lines to form the North Eastern Railway's inland West Hartlepool to Sunderland via Haswell and West Hartlepool to Ferryhill Lines. Contemporary maps suggest that this was the site of a section of triple or quadruple track between the railway station (behind the photographer) and the junction with the branch to Castle Eden Colliery.
