English: Hatiora salicornioides (bottle cactus) is an epiphyte native to eastern Brazil. This image shows three yet unopened buds projecting from the tip of one stem and a drop of sap clinging to a spicule at the tip of another. Height of rear bud approx. 5.5 mm. This focus stack is a composition of 135 individual images.
Deutsch: Hatiora salicornioides ist ein epiphytisches Kakteengewächs aus Brasilien. Hier ist eine Dreifach-Knospe an der Spitze eines Stengels abgebildet, daneben ein Nektartropfen an einer Spitze am Ende eines weiteren Stengels. Länge der hinteren Knospe ca. 5,5 mm. Diese Focus Stacking-Aufnahme ist aus 135 Einzelbilder zusammen gesetzt.

NOTE: This image is a focus stacked image of "Hatiora salicornioides bottle cactus - triple buds plus a drop of sap" consisting of 135 images that were merged using Zerene Stacker Version 1.04 Build T2020-05-22-1330 (licensed). As a result, this image underwent digital manipulation which may have included blending, blurring, cloning, and colour and perspective adjustments. As a result of these adjustments, the image content may be slightly different than reality at the points where the images were combined. This manipulation is often required due to lens, perspective, and parallax distortions.

  • [5] FOCUS STACK recording: camera attached to focusing rack / automatic stepper Novoflex Castel-Micro, step set to 0.12000 mm, resulting step 0.1197 mm, total distance covered 16.04 mm (from nearmost focus to the most distant focus spot), delay between images 5 sec., duration 11 min., images stored both as JPG and 16-bit RAW (.ARW).
