Rhinehold and Tillie Hausler had this Rainier Beach building built in 1921 (Theo Buchinger, architect) to house a drugstore and hardware store. They previously owned a grocery store next door, and before that were in Hillman City. This building still stands today, though covered in a thick coat of stucco.

Signs in image: Hausler. Drug Co. Mountain. Toilet goods, Cigars, Pharmacy, Stationery, Prescriptions. Delicious Drinks. Candies. Chemist. Drink Coca-Cola. Magazines. Atlantic City Grocery. Handwritten on sleeve: Hausler Apts, Rose & Rainier.
