Summary
editDescriptionHawes Station (geograph 5485527).jpg |
English: Hawes Station A train on a very short length of track, it is hoped one day to reopen the whole line. The station was an end on junction between the Midland Railway and North Eastern Railway and provided a through route between what are now known as the Settle and Carlisle and East Coast lines. I expect export of agricultural produce and quarried stone were the main earners. Now tourism is the economic driver for possible reopening of the full route. |
