| Description |
English: Hayles Abbey Halt, GWSR Built entirely by volunteers in less than 12 months, Hayles Abbey Halt opened on 6th June 2017. It is a perfect replica of the halt opened here in 1928 by the GWR which closed in 1960. The original would have had a second platform as the Honeybourne line was double track. That apart, the recreation is totally authentic. The shelter, identical to the original, was found in a garden in Usk. The spelling 'Hayles' has been used because, rightly or otherwise, that is how the GWR spelt it. |
