Description
English: Around AD 300.

Marble.

A pointed chisel was used for the stubble, a flat chisel for the modelling of the hair. The firmly shut, lopsided mouth and the heavy jaws lend interest to the face. He seems melancholy, but we cannot tell if this was intended.
