Description
English: Heading for Durlston Head The headland in the distance is Durlston Head, with the Durlston Castle buildings clearly visible on the cliff-top. In the foreground, the path to the left of the fenceposts skirts around the bottom of a Portland Stone cliff sea defence, below the flats on Belle Vue Road that are in danger of falling if the cliff erodes any further. To the left the toe of the sea defences comprises large blocks of Portland Stone. Although it is possible to walk at low tide along the shore to the headland at the end of the bay, the only way to the cliff-top coast path is via the so-called Zigzag path, which starts about 50 metres beyond this point.
