Description
English: The gymnasium of the former St. Vincent's Female Orphan Asylum, now used by the Health Sciences Charter School located in the same building, as seen in December 2019. Built in 1935 from a design by the local firm of Dietel & Wade, the frontispiece of the building adds a touch of the firm's own Art Deco house aesthetic (best exemplified by the buff brick pilasters framing the entrance, with cut-stone floral-pattern reliefs decorating the capitals) to a design that otherwise reflects the Italian Gothic forms of the surrounding buildings of the complex.
