Summary
editDescriptionHeath to Stanley road - geograph.org.uk - 597727.jpg |
English: Heath to Stanley road. This short section of unnamed¹ modern² road is part of the Heath to Stanley road and turns sharply left just ahead in the direction of Stanley.
At the bend in the road there is a junction (just seen on the right in this photograph) with a lane from 600817. On the left, at the bend, is Stainsby Brook Cottage, which is obscured by trees. This area is called Stainsbybrook and is part of the hamlet of Stainsby. For a more southerly (ahead and left) photograph of the road that is looking back toward this bend in the road, click here 604177. Some 80metres behind the viewpoint is the road's 597657, which leads on northward toward the A6175. For another view³ of the road junction taken by Alan Heardman, click here 521615. ¹ Road name information from OS Maps at:- Elgin, http://www.elgin.gov.uk/ or the Mapping Portal of the Derbyshire Partnership, http://derbyshiremaps.derbyshire.gov.uk/ ² Modern, because the construction of the M1 Motorway caused its realignment. ³ On the left of Alan's photograph is Stainsby Brook Cottage an on the right is Cobblers Cottage. |
