editDescriptionHebden Bridge Parish Church - geograph.org.uk - 1751795.jpg |
English: Hebden Bridge Parish Church The church of St James the Great at Hebden Bridge was built in 1832. The land for the church had been donated by the Revd James Armatage Rhodes and his wife Mary who lived at Mytholm Hall. Originally it had been proposed to donate land at Hangingroyd, closer to the town centre. It was discovered that Mrs Rhodes only had a lifelong interest in the Hangingroyd estate, so the site at Mytholm was chosen instead. The site is about half a mile from the centre of Hebden Bridge.
