Description
English: Hedge and trees north of Boldron The current pattern of fields, hedges, walls, trees, ditches and paths evolved within a very short period of time in the eighteenth century, as recorded in Durham County Record Office in the "Plan and Apportionment for the 1768 Parliamentary Act of Enclosure of Boldron Moor", though many of the field boundaries have decayed in the twentieth century. This one on the east side of the rigg and furrowed field containing the footpath leading north from the village quoits pitch is still maintained, with a pig-wire fence supplementing the rather gappy thorn hedge. In the distance you can make out one of the more recently built houses, at the east end of the village.
