Das Gebiet ist ca. 117 ha groß und besteht hauptsächlich aus Feucht-, Nass- und Streuwiesen, Gräben, Tümpel und Teichen, Röhricht, Gebüschen und Auwald Resten. Biber, Eisvogel und zahlreiche Libellenarten, sowie andere seltene Tier- und Pflanzenarten sind hier zu Hause.
