Summary edit
DescriptionHeimia salicifolia (10650359546).jpg |
I normally take a keen interest in where garden plants come from but I'm not sure where I'd have said this is native. Apparently it occurs throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas from Texas to Argentina. It's certainly very easy-going in cultivation. It's related to Lythrum, Cuphea and Lagerstroemeria, in the Lythraceae. The clawed petals are a bit of a give-away. |
