Description

Native, warm-season, annual, erect, tufted, white-woolly

herb, 10-45 cm tall. Leaves at the base of the plant die early. Leaves are linear to oblong and 1-5 cm long; diminishing in size up the stems. Flowerheads consist of dense clusters of numerous heads at the stem tips; each head is about 4 mm wide, with shiny pale-yellow bracts and tubular yellow flowers. Flowering is from spring to early summer. Found on many soil types and in many habitats, including native pastures, sandy river flats, swamp margins and roadsides. Native biodiversity. Of little importance to livestock grazing as it is sparingly grazed by stock and is of limited abundance in pastures. No management information is available.
