Description
English: Shows the mid-day variation in the heliostat mirror tilt up from an axis that rotates during the day. The curves are for different target locations above the south polar axis, relative to the heliostat when looking south. The x-axis is the chosen tilt of the fixed axis. When mirror tilt variation for the day is zero, only the primary axis is needs to be turned during the day. Turn rate may vary approximately 10% during the day and is less than 15 degrees per hour.
