Description
English: COMALAPA AIR BASE, El Salvador - The Heron Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) takes off from the Comalapa airport runway during a counter drug support mission May 21. The Heron UAV is part of an Unmanned Air System (UAS) deployed to El Salvador through May 27 to support a month-long evaluation initiative called Project Monitoreo to assess the suitability of using unmanned aircraft for counter drug missions in the U.S. Southern Command area of focus.
