English: At Hengstberg Nature Reserve (Naturschutzgebiet Hengstberg) near Herrnhut, Landkreis Görlitz, Saxony, Germany. It is a mixed forest.
Deutsch: Waldbestand im Naturschutzgebiet Hengstberg bei Herrnhut, Landkreis Görlitz, Sachsen, Deutschland. Das 1961 ausgewiesene Schutzgebiet umfasst vornehmlich naturnahe Laubmischwälder – vorrangig bodensaure Eichen-Buchenwälder –, in die aber als Besonderheiten auch starke alte Europäische Lärchen (Larix decidua) sudetischer Herkunft sowie Restbestände der Weißtanne (Abies alba) eingesprengt sind. Insgesamt ein Mischwald wie aus dem Bilderbuch. Man täusche sich jedoch nicht: Es handelt sich nicht um einen unberührten Urwald, sondern die vorhandenen Waldbilder verdanken sich ausschließlich der intensiven Pflege und nachhaltigen Bewirtschaftung durch die Forstverwaltung der Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine (Brüderunität).
