English: Former jewish school and mikveh in Bad Hersfeld, built in 1896.
Deutsch: Haus in Vogelsang 3, Ehemaliges jüdisches Schulhaus und Mikwe der jüdischen Gemeinde von Hersfeld. Erbaut 1896 von Robert Wölbing. Der Schulraum befand sich im Erdgeschoss auf der Seite der Dudenstraße (damals Kaiserstraße). Die Mikwe befand sich an der Seite zur Synagoge hin. Da wo heute das rötliche Gebäude steht war früher die Synagoge, die am 8. November 1938 niedergebrannt wurde. Während dieser Novemberprogrome wurde das Schulhaus beschädigt. Im Besitz vom DGB wurde das Gebäude 1953 baulich verändert. Früher war das Gebäude ein unverputzter Backsteinbau mit Rundbogenfenstern. Am 8. November 1980 wurde über einem Fenster im Erdgeschoss, an der abgeschrägten Hausecke, eine Gedenktafel angebracht. |
