Summary
editDescriptionHesketh winder house and power house. - geograph.org.uk - 637742.jpg |
English: Hesketh winder house and power house. This building housed both the Hesketh winder and the colliery power plant. This had all been scrapped but a nice Walker Brothers steam compressor from Sutton Manor Colliery had been installed. It will probably be in poor condition by now.
The site well illustrates the problems of trying to preserve a large industrial complex on a thread-like income stream from visitors. |
