English: Site of Hest Bank station, West Coast Main Line 1998. View NE, towards Carlisle and Scotland: ex-LNWR (Lancaster & Carlisle section) of the WCML, electrified in 1974. No trace of the station is visible, it having been closed since 3/2/69. Two Class 86 electric locomotives hurry through on an Up train of empty container wagons. Some Furness Fells are visible on the horizon. |
