| Description | De Tongplaat in de Biesbosch bij Dordrecht is een eerder, ten behoeve van landbouw, ingepolderd stukje slik. Dit stukje landbouwland is teruggegeven aan de natuur en begint zich steeds meer te ontwikkelen tot een watergetijdegebied wat de Biesbosch uiteindelijk is. Het gebied is rijk aan planten, insecten, wat weer vogels aantrekt en zelfs de Bevers hebben de Tongplaat ontdekt. Was het vorig jaar niet meer dan een onverwachte plons in een sloot midden in de nacht. Nu zijn het duidelijke knaagsporen en omgehaalde boompjes. Boompjes die blijven liggen totdat ze uitgedroogd en lichter van gewicht zijn om daarna opgehaald te worden om de dam bij het nest te verstevigen. Dwars door het getijdegebied loopt een verhoging met een pad. Het "Laarzenpad". Dit heet niet voor niets zo. Het is een getijdegebied dus loopt het ook op zijn tijd onder water. De vloed vermijden is dan ook een aanbeveling. Op foto 02 staat een paaltje. De bovenste ring is de Maximaal gemeten waterhoogte. |
