Description
English: Sculpture entitled Der Freudensprung ("The Jump of Joy") at Wandsbek Markt in Hamburg, Germany. The sculpture shows Matthias Claudius about to jump over one of his sons; an old custom of the 18th century performed upon the birth of a new child that was supposed to bring good luck.

Die Skulptur stellt den Hamburger Dichter und "Wandsbeker Boten" Matthias Claudius beim Sprung über einen seiner Söhne; ein altes Ritual aus dem 18.
