| Description |
High Line used to be an elevated freight rail line extending south along the industrial warehouses in the Chelsea district. Closed in 1980, it was renovated as an elevated park and re-opened in two stages in 2009 and 2011, to coincide with the area's urban renewal. The old rail line used to go through buildings, and those through tunnels in buildings are now nice shady places to look at street art vendors. Or just people-watch. |
