| Description | PEARL HARBOR (March 18, 2014) Hawaii Baptist Academy juniors and seniors visited Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii March 18 to learn about various engineering fields available for future careers. Students were provided with an overview of NAVFAC Hawaii's engineering expertise and responsibilities by listening to an architect, and a civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineer, a project manager, and a construction manager. After the conference room session, the students were taken on a tour of a construction site, the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command ‘s new building at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, which is close to completion. The visit was coordinated by the NAVFAC Hawaii’s Capital Improvements Business Line to stimulate interest in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum and build Hawaii's next generation of outstanding talent.
