Summary edit

Description
English: High Street, Omagh. Compare this view with this linked image taken along the same spot in 1942 by Edward Greer Fleming; in it on the right is the Café Rex owned by the Battisti family and T.A. Hendersons Public House, which later became known as The Bear's Paw. High up above the awning is the sign for the Irish Souvenir House, which was Kirkpatricks paper shop(it was later to owned by Grahams), J. R. Pollocks grocery shop and Mullans Chemists Shop. Note the numerous old cars and bicycles, including women in military uniform. Notice the Cantrell and Cochrane lemonade lorry behind the woman wheeling the bike on the left. Still in place is the Boer War memorial on the Courthouse Brae http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/hXMEwZA9wwUUg32FF4_7kg?feat=directlink

This is the very same camera that took the picture in 1942 in the attached link http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/cZ8X9qb4A8tv0_fyZmt5-w?feat=directlink

Note; the Fleming Family owned Campsie House in the early 1900s, and it is now occupied by the Western Education and Library Board Headquarters Offices - see 359997 and 619708
