Description
English: Highways flats, Killingbeck, Leeds, West Yorkshire. In 2019 Leeds City Council voted to demolish these flats in 2020 but by June 2020 they seem to be mostly inhabited; possibly COVID-19 has delayed the process of rehousing. Unlike many similar T-blocks in Leeds with brick in-fills the Highways flats being a little earlier are concrete and the deterioration is visible. It was decided that refurbishment would require everyone to move out and couldn't be guaranteed for more than 15 years so demolition was decided upon. Despite the deteriorating condition the flats are well kept and tidy. Taken on the evening of Thursday the 4th of June 2020.
