This is Bright Angel Canyon - known as "The Box" since the walls are fairly narrow. We are walking through Vishnu Schist and Zoroaster Granite. I feel the weight of deep time all around me while down here in the canyon. It is a wonderful place. "The Granite Gorge Metamorphic Suite consists of the metasedimentary Vishnu Schist and the metavolcanic Brahma and Rama Schists.
