This is Hilary from the valleys in South Wales. I know the inflatable Daffodil with 'Cymru am Byth' (Wales for Ever) gives it away a bit but I had to have a word and take her picture as I had watched her walking up to many fancy dressed people to ask if she could take their picture. I noticed as well just how few said no. I asked her where in Wales she was from and she replied "I'm Hilary from Pontypool." Any person, like myself, of Welsh origins has nothing to say other than "oh yes, home of the legendary Pontypool Front Row that powered Wales to many Rugby victories in the late 60's, early 70's. She was impressed until I told her my name was Gareth Williams which meant to her that, of course, I would know all about them. Hilary was wandering about the crowd on her own so I believe her to be one of Wales's own great eccentrics. Nothing wrong with that as it was a pleasure to meet her and chat for a few minutes.
