Vandaag heeft de ceremoniële overdracht plaats gevonden van de penitentiaire inrichting Tilburg aan België. Tijdens de bijeenkomst in de PI Tilburg waren minister Hirsch Ballin, staatssecretaris Albayrak en de Belgische minister van Justitie, Stefaan De Clerck aanwezig.

De gevangenis werd symbolisch overgedragen middels de overhandiging van een grote sleutel door minister Hirsch Ballin aan zijn Belgische collega. De ceremonie werd bijgewoond door genodigden uit België en Nederland.
