| Description |
English: History disappears This structure has replaced a sturdy 19th century-style brick arch bridge which used to span the locks at this point in the Stratford upon Avon basin. It shows the danger that tourism pressures can bring - the bridge was swept away as part of alleged Council improvements to the Bancroft area which also saw destruction of old flowering cherry trees, paving of green areas and an apparent attempt to create more space for tourist type 'craft fairs'. |
