Svenska: Bebyggelseregistret: Efter att ritningar uppgjorts av J. T. Byström upprättades byggnadskontrakt med grosshandlaren Christian Tegner i Västervik. Sedan uppfördes ett 21 meter högt, cylinderformat torn av kalksten med en fyrapparat bestående av tolv paraboliska speglar med rovoljelampor inom en lanternin. Fyrplatsen anlades ären 1845-1846 och fyren tändes i oktober 1846.
1882 utbyttes oljelamporna mot fotogenlampor. 1914-1915 höjdes tornet till cirka 22 meters höjd och försågs med en linsapparat av första ordningen inom en ny lanternin. Samma år sattes en knallsignalapparat upp för mistsignalering. 1945 elektrifierades fyrplatsen.
