Vue de la façade d'un immeuble devenu emblématique du progrès socialiste sur la Karl-Marx-Allee

Cet immeuble appartient à un ensemble résidentiel construit par Hermann Henselmann en 1952 et situé au n°25 de la Marchlewskistrasse, très proche de la Karl-Marx-Allee.

A la construction, les appartements ont été pourvus d'un confort exceptionnel pour l'époque (chauffage central, téléphone, ascenseur, etc) afin de faire la démonstration des objectifs socialistes de progrès.

Leur nom signifie "Le cygne né des ruines de Berlin"
