Description
Deutsch: Kachelofen mit Darstellungen der „Personifikationen der Freien Künste und Planeten“. Der ehemals im Salzburger Schloß Arenberg aufgestellte Kachelofen ist der Hafnerwerkstatt Thomas Strobl in Salzburg zuzuschreiben. Der bunt glasierte Ofen mit weißen Zinnglasuren ist um 1570 entstanden und damit ein typisches Beispiel für die qualitativ hochstehende Kunst der Salzburger Hafner des 16. Jahrhunderts. Der Ofen zeigt in den fünf Feldern der Sockelzone und den vier Feldern des Aufsatzes in großformatigen Kacheln mit Muschelnischen die personifizierte Darstellung von zeittypischen Themen der „Freien Künste und Planeten“: Grammatica, Dialectica, Astrologia, Musica, Merkus.
