Deutsch: Von Oktober 2009 bis Dezember 2016 untersuchten Archäologen des Landesdenkmalamtes Berlin, finanziert von der BVG (Bauherr), den Bereich der Baufelder der U-Bahnlinie 5 im Zentrum von Berlin. Im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchungen standen die Baureste des mittelalterlichen Rathauses. In den verschiedenen Fußböden und Bodenauffüllungen des Untergeschosses, das in seiner langen Geschichte als Kaufhaushalle, Schankstube und Lager diente sind weit über tausend Münzen geborgen worden. Diese Sammlung stellt eine einzigartige und authentische Quelle der Geschichte des Geldumlaufs in Berlin und der Handelsbeziehungen Berliner Kaufleute in sechs Jahrhunderten dar.
