Deutsch: Als Zongos (Sing. Zongo) werden jene Kleinstsiedlungen bezeichnet, die entlang der alten Karawanenrouten, besonders nach der Zerschlagung von Samoris Reich 1898, als Halte- und Verpflegungsstationen für Karawanen und Reisende in fast jedem größeren Dorf angelegt wurden.
English: Those micro settlements which were put on along the old caravan routes, particularly after the suppression by Samory's realm in 1898, as stopping place and catering stations for caravans and travellers in almost every bigger village are called Zongos (sing. Zongo).
