Description
English: The gaol building was used for the detention of troublesome internees during WW1. The cells still have graffiti dating from this period. The building is constructed of concrete block textured and coloured to resemble sandstone with a terracotta tiled roof. A small "exercise yard" is provided in front of the north and west facades and is enclosed by a block wall and iron “cage”. Following the internees leaving Holdsworthy, the building was used as a Powder Magazine and general storage shed. The solid steel doors are believed to be from that time.
