Description
English: Holes and barrows on Bronkham Hill The barrow is a bronze-age burial mound, one of many on top of Bronkham Hill (and many many more along this stretch of the Ridgeway). I am less certain about the depression in the foreground (partly in shadow) - the OS map labels this area as having "shake holes" - which are supposed to be naturally created by chemical weathering of the chalk.
