Notes Revolver holster, circa 1900, Anglo Boer War. Holster for.38 Smith and Wesson revolver that belonged to 4090 Private Arthur Christian McFarlane of Auckland. During the Anglo Boer War Auckland farmer Arthur Christian McFarlane (born 1879) enlisted with 7th NZ Mounted Rifles, leaving New Zealand aboard the Gulf of Taranto on 6 April 1901. He was accidentally injured at Standerton two months later. Standerton was the site of a concentration camp for both Blacks and Boers. McFarlane received the Queen's and King's South Africa Medals with bars for Orange Free State and Cape Colony, also receiving the SA01 and SA02 bars.
