| Description |
English: Holybrook car park and Seven Bridges House The car park is the smaller of two large car parks for The Oracle. The ramps are up in the grey building behind with car park mainly on the roof. To the right is Seven Bridges House. This was the house built in 1790 for William Simonds, who founded and ran the brewery on this site. It is now a small conference centre. This road, now called Bridge Street, was then called Seven Bridge Street, referring to the seven bridges that crossed the various streams of the braided River Kennet. Today just one major channel, the Kennet, and one smaller channel, the Holybrook, remain. |
