Description Der Bahnhof Holzhau ist seit 1972 Endpunkt der Strecke. Holzhau hatte ursprünglich vor allem für den Güterverkehr Bedeutung. Wichtigster Güterkunde war hier das Kalkwerk Hermsdorf. Von 1924 bis 1972 bestand eine 2664 Meter lange Materialseilbahn, die Werk und Bahnhof miteinander verband. Sie beförderte nicht nur die Produkte des Werkes zum Bahnhof, sondern in umgekehrter Richtung auch die für den Brennprozess benötigte Kohle. Der Güterumschlag für das Kalkwerk endete kurz nach 1990, als die Produktion des Kalkwerkes (vorübergehend) eingestellt wurde.
