Laje sepulcral de Marcos Lopes, escrivão da sé e mamposteiro-mor dos cativos, pedra de Hainaut, Bélgica, 229 x 129,5 cm.
Tetramorfos esculpidos como remate da inscrição: Sepultura de Marcos Lopes, escudeiro da casa del rei Nosso Senhor e mamposteiro-mor dos cativos desta ilha.

Porta sul do interior da sé do Funchal, ilha da Madeira.

Marcos Lopes veio para o Funchal por 1498, como escrivão das obras da nova igreja, depois acabada para sé, vindo ter carta de mercê de ofício de escrivão dos contos de 16 fev. 1512, a que renunciou a 4 out. 1515, passando o ofício para o prioste do cabido Francisco Vieira a 9 set. 1524. Foi, entretanto nobilitado como escudeiro da casa real e no fim da vida fez-se enterrar na sé como mamposteiro-mor dos cativos: Sepulltura de / Marcos llopez escudeiro da quasa dell Rey / Nosso S(e)n(h)or e / Me(m)posteyro Moor dos catiuvos desta jlha.
